Physics & Faith: From Light to Life

Our universe began with a burst of light that eventually became life. ..and all of us here on planet earth. How did this happen, and what were the remarkable circumstances that made life happen at all? Was they by chance or was there some design. This talk, based on Fr. Dave's latest book, describes the basic science of our universe and the probabilities of events that led to the life that we all have today.

Abstaining from Meat on Fridays

Fasting During Lent

Everyone 14 years of age or older is to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, all the Fridays of Lent and Good Friday.

On Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, only one full meatless meal is allowed for everyone 18 or older and under 59 years of age. Two other meatless meals, sufficient to maintain strength, may be taken according to each one’s needs, but together they should not equal another full meal. Eating between meals is not permitted. When health or ability to work would be seriously affected, the law does not oblige.
