I've heard a thousand stories of what they think you're like But I've heard the tender whispers of love in the dead of night And you tell me that you're pleased And that I'm never alone
You're a good good father It's who you are, it's who you are, it's who you are And I'm loved by you It's who I am, it's who I am, it's who I am
I've seen many searching for answers far and wide But I know we're all searching For answers only you provide 'Cause you know just what we need Before we say a word
Because you are perfect in all of your ways You are perfect in all of your ways You are perfect in all of your ways to us.
Oh, it's love so undeniable I, I can hardly speak Peace so unexplainable I, I can hardly think As you call me deeper still As you call me deeper still As you call me deeper still Into love, love, love
Reading
A reading from the letter from Paul to the Colossians:
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and instruct one another in all wisdom, and with thanksgiving in your hearts sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. The Word of the Lord. ALL: Thanks be to God.
Responsorial Psalm
O God, it is right for us to praise you, And keep our promises to you, Because you answer prayers. We thank you, O Lord.
You show your care for the land by sending rain; You make it rich and fertile. You fill the streams with water; You provide the earth with crops. We thank you, O Lord.
You send abundant rain on the ploughed fields And soak them with water; You soften the soil with showers and cause the young plants to grow. What a rich harvest your goodness provides! We thank you, O Lord.
Wherever you go there is plenty. The pastures are filled with flocks; The hillsides are full of joy. We thank you, O Lord.
The fields are covered with sheep; The valleys are full of wheat. Everything shouts and sings for joy. We thank you, O Lord.
Family Blessing
We thank you, Father, for the gift of Jesus your Son who came to our Earth and lived in a simple home. We have a greater appreciation of the value and dignity of the human family because he loved and was loved within its shelter. Bless us this day; may we grow in love for each other in our family and so give thanks to you who are the maker of all human families and our abiding peace. Amen. from The Catholic Prayer Book, compiled by Msgr. Michael Buckley
Closing Song Your Mercy
When the kindness of God Appears to us With his generous love And saving grace
His glory is rising He has lifted me up
It's because Of your mercy I can walk Your mercy I can live It's because Of your mercy I can dance Your mercy I can sing
When the kindness of God Appears to us With his glorious love and grace for us
His glory is rising He has lifted me up
It's because Of your mercy I can walk Your mercy I can live It's because Of your mercy I can dance Your mercy I can sing
