NOVENA TO NOTRE DAME, OUR MOTHER
May 11 - May 19, 2020
As we remember our mothers, living and deceased, during the month of May, join in praying the 9-day Novena to Notre Dame, Our Mother (see below).
Opening Prayer
Mary, Our Mother, by accepting the invitation to bear God’s Son to the world, you brought forth new life for all of us. Your faithful acceptance of God’s word is our model and inspiration as we strive to make room in our hearts for your Son and bear him to others. Help us to follow him more closely, even to the foot of the cross, as you did. During this month dedicated to you, we especially ask for your care for our mothers and all those remembered in our St. Bruno novena. (State your personal intention; then proceed with the prayer for the corresponding day and Closing Prayer below)

May 12th prayer: Mary of the Annunciation, we pray today for our mothers and for all women who wish to become mothers. Bless those couples struggling with infertility, those hoping for a child, and each one of us with the consoling joy of the Spirit you found in surrendering to the will of God. Hail Mary….

Hail Mary….
May 18th prayer: Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe, and Patroness of the Americas, we pray today for mothers across borders. Inspire us to look beyond our own communities to love and support mothers in all places, especially the poor and marginalized, as you cared for the vulnerable indigenous people at the time of your apparition in Tepeyac. Hail Mary….
May 19th prayer: Mary, Mother of God, we pray today that your motherhood of Jesus, truly God and truly human, might inspire us to imitate God's care for all of creation, just as you so perfectly modeled for us in you care for God's only Son. Hail Mary….

Closing Prayer
We pray today in thanksgiving for our mothers, our grandmothers, for religious women, and for our female mentors who have cared for us with your tender love. Through your intercession, may God bless our mothers on earth with abundant life and those mothers who have departed from this life with the eternal joys of life in heaven.
Pause for a moment of silence and then conclude:
We pray, as in all things, through the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, Our Lord.
Amen.
