Prayer for the Peace
FROM ST. JOHN XXIII
Lord Jesus Christ, who are called the Prince of Peace, who are yourself our peace and reconciliation, who so often said, "Peace to you," grant us peace. Make all men and women witnesses of truth, justice, and brotherly love. Banish from their hearts whatever might endanger peace. Enlighten our rulers that they may guarantee and defend the great gift of peace. May all peoples of the earth becomes as brothers and sisters. May longed-for peace blossom forth and reign always over us all.
† Amen.
† Amen.
Prayer for the Sick
Dear Jesus, divine physician, and Healer of the sick, we turn to you in this time of illness. O dearest comforter of the troubled, alleviate our worry and sorrow with your gentle love, and grant us the grace and strength to accept this burden. Dear God, we place our worries in your hands. We place our sick under your care and humbly ask that you restore your servant to health again. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge your will and know that whatever you do, you do for the love of us.
† Amen.
† Amen.
Prayer for Priestly Vocations
FROM THE ARCHDIOCESE OF LOS ANGELES
Loving Father, open our eyes to see the wonders you have created and our hearts to feel its beauty. In our days of vacation and recreation draw us nearer to you through the things which you have made. May the joy of the sunshine, the quiet of the forest, the murmur of the streams, and the steadfast strength of the everlasting hills teach us the deep secret of your peace. May we go back to the world stronger, simpler, sweeter and may we become worthy messengers of Him and his love and beauty.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
† Amen.

Prayer for All Vocations
Lord Jesus,
we ask you
to send more servants to your people.
Choose from our parishes,
from our homes,
from our schools and colleges,
an abundant harvest
of apostles for your Kingdom: priests, deacons
sisters, brothers, and lay ministers.
We pray that those you call
may never lose awareness of the
dignity and need of their vocation.
O Virgin Mary,
Mother of the Church, through the Holy Spirit,
inspire those the Master calls
to answer with a joyful "yes"
as you did at the Annunciation.
